How do donations work in Scroll Stopper?

Scroll Stopper is free to use. If you like it, then you can make a charity donation in the app. This is a simple way for you to show your appreciation by giving back to charity.

How do you charge me for my donations?

Scroll Stopper uses Stripe for transaction processing. We will charge you once a month for all your donations, to minimize individual transaction fees. You can pay either with credit card or by using Apple Pay.

How do charities receive their funds?

We will donate your funds to Every.org, a US 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity with EIN 61-1913297. Every.org then grants funds to your selected destination charities. Every.org does not charge any additional fees. To minimize transaction fees we will pool funds and donate them to Every.org in bulk once sufficient funds have accrued.

What percentage of my funds goes to the charities?

The Stripe transaction processing fee is 2.9% of the transaction amount plus 30 cents. Scroll Stopper also charges a 2% transaction processing fee to provide our service. The rest of your funds go to Every.org which will then distribute them to the charities without any additional fees. In effect 95% of your funds (minus the minimum 30 cents Stripe transaction processing fee) goes to the charities.

Why is Scroll Stopper charging an extra fee beyond the Stripe transaction processing fee?

There are costs involved to provide our app, such as the app development, web hosting, business incorporation, etc. We believe that charging a 2% fee is reasonable to cover our costs. Depending on the success of the app and the volume of transactions processed we may reduce the fee in future.
